Wedding FAQ
What is the difference between the Basic and Classic Ceremony?
In the Basic Ceremony the client is responsible to plan their own processional and rehearsal.
They will provide the Officiant with a diagram along with any cues such as music. The Officiant
will provide standard vows and various web sites should the client want to personalize their vows. Limited email support for vows is included.
The Officiant will be responsible for filing the proper papers, and will show up to marry the couple the day of the wedding.
In the Classic Ceremony the Officiant will help the couple to write custom vows that reflect their lives, goals, aspiriations, and love.
The Officiant will go to the venue and help plan the processional and be at the rehearsal. As well the Officiant will be responsible
for filing the necessary papers. During the rehersal and the wedding the Officiant will show up one half hour early to make sure everything
goes as planned. Unlimited email support, phone calls, whatever is needed is included
Will you do secular or nondenominational as well as religious weddings?
Absolutely. The key is to make your wedding your way. I will work hard to reflect your personal beliefs and or sensitivities.
Often clients want a creative ceremony, or one that reflects personal ideals, values, beliefs, and traditions. In many cases there is a blending or
accommodating of differing religions. As well ceremonies can be completely nonreligious in nature.
It is my job to take the ideas of my client and to help them put together vows that are in line with their personal preferences.
Why do you charge that for fifteen minutes worth of work?
Let me put aside the misconception that it's fifteen minutes worth of work. It can often take between ten to twelve hours time in research, and in editing drafts of vows to craft the perfect ceremony. This does not include travel time in all sorts of weather. It does not include all the guidance, hand holding, and hours committed to the couple to ensure all goes perfectly. It is this attention to detail that provides an unforgettable ceremony.
Communicating with your Officiant
The ceremony is the most important part of the wedding and the Officiant is the storyteller and the narrator of your relationship. We are the orator of your commitment at that precious moment. Officiants provide the words that will leave your witnesses feeling a part of your emotions. We are the difference between a legal marriage and a commitment ceremony. We are the muse and the evocative of an ethereal experience that will stay with your witnesses always.
How to get a Marriage License in New Jersey
N.J. Marriage License
Once you are married I will send your marriage certificate into the proper township for processing, and give you a copy of the paperwork. It takes approximately two to three weeks for your township to process the certificate. Once this happens you can go to your municipal township at the Vital Statistics department and pick up your license for a small fee. Take your paperwork and two forms of ID with you. Once that is done you may apply as a married couple for health benefits and name changes.
Will you travel to my home?
Yes I am willing to travel within thirty miles of Mount Laurel New Jersey. Travel fees are applicable at the rate of .30 per mile after the first thirty miles.
Why is there a non-refundable deposit and are there any exceptions?
When a couple books my time, that date is then reserved for them. It can’t be given to any other couple. Should the couple decide they don't want my services for some reason I still need to keep the deposit because I have lost that particular day or times fees and often cannot rebook it in time.
If the couple is ill, or I am ill yes there is that exception. Other exceptions would be an act of God, or a problem that arose that is out of the control of the couple or the Officiant.
What forms of payment do you accept?
